San Francisco

While we were in California, we spent a day in San Francisco. We were able to visit with a friend Roger grew up with, and show the kids all the typical tourist spots.
We went to Pier 39 and watched the sea lions.

Alcatraz We hiked up Lombard Street (Crookedest Street).
We saw the Golden Gate Bridge and went to an ocean beach.
We also spent some time at Golden Gate Park and saw this windmill and some bison.

California

We had a wonderful vacation in California. We stayed with Beppe and Pake (my parents) in Oakdale. We got to see Adri, Steve, and Mya, too!
We also went to a Modesto Nuts game, and we went to Woodward Reservoir where Hannah was brave enough to tube for the first time! The boys spent a lot of time playing airsoft with Pake and Roger and fishing at a neighbor's pond.

Crater Lake is Really That Blue

We took our time going down to CA. First, we stopped at a couple of places along the Columbia River. At one of the places, we enjoyed the view with some peacocks.
After camping in Bend, Oregon, along the Deschutes River...
...we spent some time at Crater Lake.

George, Washington

We started off a great 11-day vacation at a family reunion in George, Washington, with Roger's side of the family. There were about 35 kids there, so our kids had lots of fun playing with their relatives! Here are the kids, minus Hannah, who wouldn't stand still for a picture.

Alan and Nathan's 11th Birthday

Alan and Nathan had a great birthday. We had kids coming and going from our house all day long, and we had a party at Tumwater Lanes. They had lots of fun bowling!

Happy Birthday, Alan and Nathan!

Soccer

Alan and Nathan had their last soccer game of the season. It was the first game they played in the rain this season, which is strange for Western Washington (where it rains all the time)! They both enjoyed being forwards. Since each has always known where the other is, they worked really well together. Their coach called them the "Kiers Connection," and usually put them in at the same time.
